Business Health Insurance

Many small businesses located around the country will soon be provided the opportunity to participate in one of the many new health insurance plans which are springing to life in various parts of the nation. These plans are expected to provide a 20 percent savings to the business owners involved.

One such company that is taking part in this revolutionary plan is the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance. This program is aiming at a target price range of approximately $330 dollars per monthly premium. This is 10 percent of the nationwide average monthly premiums paid. The company’s goal is to provide the small business owners and their employees an affordable health care program. This particular plan will be available to over 30 thousand companies who employee less then 50 fulltime workers.

The small business owners can easily save over thousands of dollars yearly and still provide their workers with a quality health insurance program. It is expected that with the savings realized by these small businesses they can add additional employees or build up their companies. Savings such as these may be just what is needed to keep some small businesses from going under and closing their doors.

At first many of the companies were a bit skeptical that their insurance rates could potentially be reduced to such low rates but they have since reexamined their stand and are starting to see the benefits even now. Granted the plan will not resolve all of the health care problems that are facing the small businesses but it is a viable beginning.

The major advantage of this plan is that it focuses on keeping the people healthy in an effort to reduce the ultimate health care costs. The plan has an extensive preventive care section which includes annual physicals as well as the related laboratory tests. There is no co-payment what so ever associated with these annual programs.

For any non-preventive type of care a single employee must pay an annual deductible of $2,500 or those with a family will pay $5,000 deductible per year. These deductibles are assuming that the person is using a tier 1 health provider which uses lower overall rates. The higher rated providers naturally require higher deductibles such as $4,000 dollars or $8,000 annually.
